It was all built as a wizard, so only three steps are enough to allow any user create a ringtone.

First of all, users are required to choose a locally-stored source file. Only the MP3 format is support and since no built-in conversion tools are available, your options are very limited.

Step number two comes down to selecting the part you wish to extract from the source file, with two different settings at your disposal, namely fade in and fade out, respectively.

Last but not least, users are asked to choose a name for the output ringtone, again in MP3 format, and let the application do its magic.

As you can see, everything’s pretty fast and although a help manual isn’t included in the package, chances are that most users don’t even need one.

Of course, thanks to the fact that it’s all just a wizard, it doesn’t affect system performance in any way, but instead it works smoothly on all Windows versions. No administrator privileges are required, so it’s a shame that only the MP3 format is supported.

All things considered,  Free Ringtone Maker can help lots of users out there, although it’s pretty clear that further improvements are necessary. It already has the user-friendly approach, so with a few enhancements here and there it could easily become one of the top apps in this particular software category.
