Comodo Dragon

Popular security software developer Comodo has developed a Chrome remix said to have higher security features than its predecessors. Comodo Dragon is an aesthetically minimalist browser that is attractive, responsive, and secure.

Apart from the red hue, the Chromium-based browser's interface is identical to that of market contender Google Chrome. From the detachable tabs at the top of the screen to the bookmark-syncing option, it is impossible to instantly recognize where the "remix" takes place. The Help tab even redirects you to Google Chrome's Help page and the Extensions tab redirects you to Google as well. It also keeps Chrome's incognito mode option, where all browsing information and cookies are deleted following the user's Web session. Upon poking around the Options menu, there are a couple of visible differences: there are no location settings and Dragon does not present an option to send "usage statistics and crash reports to Google."

A browser developed by a company that is best known for its firewall software can leave people feeling more secure about their Internet usage. Comodo Dragon will pull up a bright-yellow caution message warning people that sending information may be unsafe when they are entering a Web site with an unstable security certificate. One such message pops up even when logging into large sites like Facebook. Also, Dragon does not send browsing information to a remote server.

Based on simple timer tests run on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3, the average cold start-up time was 4.53 seconds, warm start-up was 0.92s, and navigation time from nytimes.com to facebook.com was 0.87s. Comodo Dragon proves to have slightly faster page-loading speed than Google Chrome 5.0.375.70, which had results of 5.71s, 1.27s, and 1.23s, respectively. However, in Sunspider JavaScript benchmark testing, Comodo Dragon received an average score of 929.6 milliseconds, whereas Google got 734ms. Based on these results, Google may have faster JavaScript performance than Comodo.

Dragon is not only fast, but like Google Chrome, it is not strewn with numerous icons, leaving more room for Web viewing. For those who are extra cautious about their online security, or for those who are worried about Google's data-mining, this fast browser is a great choice.

DeepFreeze.Windows 7 +serial

The first time I heard the all new operating system of Microsoft, I've been thinking of another software that can support our school computer laboratory like of the previous version of Deep Freeze as we change to the new platform. Version 5.0 and 6.0 is actually working great for Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Home Edition as we tried to prevent a disastrous computer viruses in every workstation.

And now, we have a new set of machines good for another school workstation and we are planning to pack it with Windows 7 Ultimate Edition without considering our previous setup just to get rid of any malicious codes from student's files and flash drives. And guess what, I heard Deep Freeze 7.0 from a colleague, a new version which can aide our requirements to maintain the integrity of our every workstation. I tried to get our first copy in an unknown site offering a free downloadable package. But in my surprise, I ended with malicious and infected files. Thanks to Avast! Home Edition for quick action against it.

As I try to look around recently for another copy, most of reliable sources on the line deleted this file in their databases and probably because of a certain issue coupled in every copy of Deep Freeze. Although for now, we try to figure out the reason why they need to terminate their connection in the maker of this software.

Of course, we will not let you hanging from here because somehow, there are few site offering a free version of Deep Freeze 7.0 but take your risk downloading this file from any possible sources on the Internet. I suggest, check the right website rather and do not sacrifice your computing experience in any possible danger.

Mozilla Firefox maintains an internal whitelist of top-level domains (TLDs; e.g. .org or .uk) whose registries have appropriate anti-spoofing policies, to make sure two different people cannot register names which are confusingly similar to the eye. IDN domains whose TLDs are not on the whitelist display as "xn--something" (a.k.a. A-labels or Punycode) in the UI. This approach means an IDN URL either works in Firefox everywhere, or nowhere - it is not dependent on the settings of each user's computer.

The 11 example.test TLDs are whitelisted in Firefox 3 and above, and so no further configuration is required. Work is under way to ascertain the anti-spoofing policies of the registries responsible for the new IDN TLDs, and then whitelist those as well. Mozilla actively recommends against ordinary end-users adding TLDs to the whitelist manually.

Security
• Sandboxing
Every tab in Chrome pluse is sandboxed, so that a tab can display contents of a web page and accept user input, but it will not be able to read the user's desktop or personal files. Google say they have "taken the existing process boundary- and made it into a jail". There is an exception to this rule; browser plugins such as Adobe Flash Player do not run within the boundaries of the tab jail, and so users will still be vulnerable to cross-browser exploits based on plugins, until plugins have been updated to work with the new Chrome security. Google has also developed a new phishing blacklist, which will be built into Chrome, as well as made available via a separate public API.
• Privacy
Google announces a so-called incognito mode claiming that it "lets you browse the web in complete privacy because it doesn’t record any of your activity". No features of this, and no implications of the default mode with respect to Google's database are given.
• Speed
Speed improvements are a primary design goal.

Stability
• Multiprocessing
The Gears team were considering a multithreaded browser (noting that a problem with existing web browser implementations was that they are inherently single-threaded) and Chrome implemented this concept with a multiprocessing architecture. A separate process is allocated to each task (eg tabs, plugins), as is the case with modern operating systems. This prevents tasks from interfering with each other which is good for both security and stability; an attacker successfully gaining access to one application does not give them access to all and failure in one application results in a "Sad Tab" screen of death. This strategy exacts a fixed per-process cost up front but results in less memory bloat overall as fragmentation is confined to each process and no longer results in further memory allocations. To complement this, Chrome will also feature a process manager which will allow the user to see how much memory and CPU each tab is using, as well as kill unresponsive tabs.

User interface
• Features
Chrome pluse has added some commonly used plugin-specific features of other browsers into the default package, such as an Incognito tab mode, where no logs of the user activity are stored, and all cookies from the session are discarded. As a part of Chrome's V8 JavaScript virtual machine, pop-up JavaScript windows will not be shown by default, and will instead appear as a small bar at the bottom of the interface until the user wishes to display or hide the window. Chrome will include support for web applications running alongside other local applications on the computer. Tabs can be put in a web-app mode, where the omnibar and controls will be hidden with the goal of allowing the user to use the web-app without the browser "in the way".
• Rendering Engine
Chrome pluse uses the WebKit rendering engine on advice from the Gears team because it is simple, memory efficient, useful on embedded devices and easy to learn for new developers.
• Tabs
While all of the major tabbed web browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox) have been designed with the window as the primary container, Chrome pluse  will put tabs first (similar to Opera). The most immediate way this will show is in the user interface: tabs will be at the top of the window, instead of below the controls, as in the other major tabbed browsers. In Chrome, each tab will be an individual process, and each will have its own browser controls and address bar (dubbed omnibox), a design that adds stability to the browser. If one tab fails only one process dies; the browser can still be used as normal with the exception of the dead tab. Chrome will also implement a New Tab Page which shows the nine most visited pages in thumbnails, along with the most searched on sites, most recently bookmarked sites, and most recently closed tabs, upon opening a new tab, similar to Opera's "Speed Dial" page.
